One identify to await is windows updates.

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Confirm if any updates were installed on that date.

On the WIndows update folio click on Advanced Options then Cull how updates are delivered.

On the "Chose how updates are delivered" page if the showtime option is turned on, the MS is using your computer equally a "mule" to deliver updates to other people. That would business relationship for network use.

Also check in the Recycle bin, if someone was using your system and they were sloppy, in that location could be deleted files there ("sloppy" because there is an option to delete files without putting them in the recycle bin).

How-do-you-do Rohn007,

I went to the Windows Update History, there were no updates for eleven/xvi/2017.

I do not run across the "Advanced Options" on the Windows Update History page. Is at that place another method to get to the Advanced Options?

Is  in that location a method to view what was downloaded on eleven/16/2017 during a specific time period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, however, I cannot notice it. I do know that it occurred on xi/16/2017 between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.

Thank you,

Paulwayne

Hi, Paul, TCPIPView is condom, I would not put you wrong . . .

Actually TCPIPView is more than for monitoring your network activeness should this sort of thing happen once more . . .

As for what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 between v:30 PM and six:30 PM

In that location are 2 possible ways to find that out:

1.
Open Windows File Explorer and double click on your C Bulldoze in 'This PC'

Click in the Search Box
The Search Ribbon should go active
Click Appointment Modified drib downward and cull Today
Then click the bluish text in the search box, a calendar volition appear
Select the 16th and requite it time to search - it can be a while

In the resulting search, you should exist able to see what downloaded . . .

2.
Click your Beginning Button, blazon Result Viewer and hit Enter
This volition open the Event Viewer app
On the left, click the arrow beside Windows logs to expand information technology
For each log, click it and scroll down through the events to find that engagement and time
This might give you some clue as to what happened at that time and what was downloaded . . .

Sorry, misdirected you. the Advanced Options is on the "Update Status" page

Sorry, I practice not know of whatsoever way of identifying what was up or downloaded during a specific time. There are many utilities that can monitor yous internet employ. The problem is that most of them focus on total volume and speed. Very few provide whatsoever ID for the file or plan that is doing the up/down loading.

http://www.cucusoft.com/netguard.aspx#CheckHist... is ane exception I found in a QUICK search. It at least identifies the program doing the traffic.

You volition have to do your own search to find a better suited application to identify FUTURE traffic.

This article tells how to utilize congenital in tools to monitor network traffic, including awarding doing the work:

How-do-you-do Dave,

I used the effect viewer to view my PC activeness for 11/16/2017 between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. I see several alarm letters and fault messages. It appears something was trying to download and install some apps or security files, I'chiliad not sure.

Could I email you lot a couple of screen shots of the upshot viewer and get your feedback? I really do not understand what was occurring on 11/16/2017, but it did last for about 2 hours and looks a bit suspicious to me. I do not encounter a way to adhere screen shots on this community web site, perhaps I can reply back with the text?

Deplorable for all the questions.

Give thanks You Dave,

Paul

Hi Paul, sorry i had to get some sleep . . .

Can you do one thing for me:
Click your Start Button, type winver and hit Enter
In the resulting dialog, take a notation of what version No. of Windows 10 y'all are running (1709, 1703, 1607 . . . etc.)

Due to the corporeality of data that has been downloaded, I am judge it was the Fall Creators Update that was downloading. If y'all are not running 1709, then that is the most probable scenario . . .

Of you lot want to post screenshots you lot tin do that here or upload them to the cloud (DropBox,OneDrive . . .etc.) and post a link here and I will take a look for you . . .
